Thinking of raising our own chickens and wondering how the egg laying ability and broodiness would be from the resulting crosses? Lavender Orpington roosters over New Hampshire, Black Australorps and Barred Rock hens.

Would those Orpington crosses result in any increase or decrease in egg production from the hen breeds? Would their be an increase in broodiness?

It all depends on the strains or bloodlines or what genes they carry. They would probably be around the same egg production as their parents.
