orpington just started laying and wants to stay in nest....

i have 4 orpingtons and 1 barred rock. One of the Orpingtons just started laying yesterday...yippie!! she gave me an egg yesterday and one today but she seems to want to hang out in the nest box for a while. I know orpingtons are very prone to being broody and i would like to do my best to keep that from happening (i know it will) i have been grabbing the egg almost right after she lays it but i am not sure if i should let her chill in the nest or gently lift her out. i do have golf balls in the nest boxes in an attempt to teach everyone where to lay Thanks in advance for any advice.

Is she puffed up hissing? And no, she may never go broody, but then again, she may.
I doubt that if she started laying shes broody, but she might be/

Does she come out? Some hens stay in the box for a while before and after laying their egg.

no growling or hissing she just looks plain confused. i lifted her out today and she was totally fine with it...i hope i did the right thing i dont want to hurry her out of there but i dont want her to get used to staying either....

Its not really a prob, and I assume your in the city so you dont want her to go broody?

She probably just is one of the 'spend lots of time in the nestbox' hens.
