I'm trying to decide between the two breeds. I have owned a buff Orpington rooster before and he was amazing, I have never owned a Plymouth Rock but read good things about them.

Basically I need a bird that can go broody, lays any amount of eggs, is good in the cold weather and is good for meat.

I was originally thinking the buff rock, but I just found a place I could get Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons.... And I'm kind of in love haha.

So opinions?

If your looking for meat birds, go with Orpingtons all the way. But as for Lemon Cuckoos, no. The breed is for showing and admiring- not for eating. Go with buff orpingtons- nice, docile birds and can handle cold weather easily.
