This is an orpington out of either a solid red Orpington or red cuckoo Orpington hens and a red cuckoo rooster the breeding pen hatched 30%to 40% of this and light red/caramel buff cuckoo. What color would you call this guy, the other pictures are hens from same breeding pen. What should I be breeding to this guy solid red and red cuckoo or can I add creole or buff
Thanks

Just an idea but maybe youre dealing with mahogany and dilute genes.
You can have a buff bird and add mahogany to make red.
You can take the red bird which has mahogany and add the dilute gene to make buff.
If the buff then loses the mahogany but keeps the dilute it changes it to lemon.
I had a project once that was throwing a lot of variations because of whether they had none, one or two mahogany genes.
None, one or two dilute genes and any and all combinations of the two different genes.
