We are just about finished with our new tractor, and I will will finally get my chicks. So we are several months away from full grown birds. Today I realized that we have Osmocote in several places in the yard . If I were to let the chickens free range I am sure they would eat this and it would be poison. My question is how long should I wait before I allow them into the yard. I wonder what the life of the Omocote is. Maybe 8-9 months. I will have to start using organic liquid fertilizer from now on, But there is no way to remove the Osmocote. Any thoughts.

thanks

I believe that is water activated and time release. Maybe water alot and often? They will eat the brightly colored balls.
Good luck.
