the hen is rough looking! broke feathers missing ones but otherwise seems healthy enough the hens are not the problem its the rooster. he will chase her peck her and at times I could swear he attacks her like flogging. I have seen her submit and he mount do his thing then jump off and peck her mean like three more times I went out and her comb was bleeding so I took care of it and coated with vaselene but recently I have not see her stay close enough to let him do anything.. don't blame her. she normally stays a respectful distance from him this started after a lonely rooster showed up in my yard.. he WONT go home I took him back and they keep letting him out so I stopped taking him back! anyway cooper runs him all the time but this black hen is also an object of his attacks she has started to hang with the other rooster due to the aggression but hangs with the other ladies as long as cooper is not close.
will she always be this way? I have 12 hens to a roo and not all them will let him breed but he don't treat them anything like her.
