Other birds eating the eggs

This morning I found pigeons eating one of the hens eggs. I think it must have been taken out if the coup yesterday. any ideas how to stop this and to stop them going in the coop eating the food. Yesterday I let them free range out of the run, so it would have been easy for a predictor to sneak an egg!

I'd try to either spook the pigeons or cover the coop.

The coop is enclosed with a small door. Maybe I could remove the food during the day when we let the girls out?
