Heyya! I happen to be in Northport, so we're not THAT far... am I the only one who gets questionable glances from people when I tell them I have chickens? It's seeming to get more popular, but it's not exactly like having a cat or a dog around here!

Hi MiaohMia, no we are not that far. No you are not the only one with questionable glances. I get them a lot when I am in Meat Farms at the veggie rack that sells past prime veggies. I buy a bunch of it and say "my hens will love this". Then my students - I teach in Nassau, look at me like my head fell off when I tell them I have chickens. They really don't know where their food comes from so I make it a teachable moment.
