i have a 4 month old hen and a 2 1/2 month old chick/hen. both feed on chicken feed only. Beside feed, what other food/snacks can I give them?? (Meal worms will soon be added as a snack to their daily intake)

You can give them all kind of nutricious food as an extra (a quarter of the total amount of food).
Grains, mais, healty left overs, weeds, herbs, grasses, fruits, ....
Best supply some small stones too now if there's not much to find for them in the run or backyard.

Kitchen scraps and scratch are my favorite treats. Scratch can be bought by the 50# bag and mixed into feed in small amounts. Most any kitchen scraps can be fed; here's a few things that SHOULDN'T:

- Moldy/rotten items

- Anything extremely fatty or sugary

- Onions or citrus (not necessarily dangerous, but they won't eat them anyways)

- Avocados

- Chocolate (super small amounts, e.g. a nibble off a Hershey's bar, won't hurt, but no large amounts - they have the same issues with it that dogs do)

- Caffeine or alcohol

- Raw potatoes. Cooked are fine.

Pretty much any else is fair game. Wilted vegetables/fruit, stale cereal/grains/bread/etc., even meat or dairy in small amounts are all 100% OK.
