Our Barn Coop in Progress - PICS!!

Very nice! We're building a new coop this year too. I love the look of the barn coop and will have to run it by my foreman (hubby) as he does the building!

Awesome job on the barn style coop! It is coming out really great - looking forward to following your progress! We are working on ours as well and I am hoping for walls today

Day Four:
Managed to get all the windows installed, hardware cloth under the roof, and the doors on...all before the monsoon hit yesterday. I'm thankful we were unaffected by the tornadoes and heavy rains. Hope others were just as fortunate. If you notice the boards on the doors, that was because the wind was blowing so hard, the doors were being ripped open. DH secured them (semi-nailed them shut) and plans to remove the boards once the weather is more cooperative.

Even though the coop isn't finished...we have the outside "finished" enough to house them through the storm. Next up: the run and then finishing the inside. The trim and detail work comes later.

Their names: Jeremy Fisher (BO roo), Jemima Puddleduck (BO), Flopsy (Black), Mopsy (black), Cotton-tail (black, poss roo), Timmy Tipshoes (LO, poss. roo), and Tiggy-Winkle (LO) --Chosen by the DD from Beatrix Potter stories!!

Hoping to have everything ready by next weekend!!

Love the barn and your chicks - especially their names! I'm glad to hear you are safe. We had a very bad day here across our state. I had heavy rain and high winds here in Burlington, but no tornadoes that I could see as I kept vigilant almost all day. I heard that Sanford got hit hard, that's a couple of counties east of me.

We had the strong winds and the town "next" to us was hit pretty hard. We were fortunate to only suffer "minor" damage from the winds. Glad you two are okay. This week while the DH works late...I plan on trying my hand at digging holes for the run posts and if all goes well (and I can make it square & level - which would be a true miracle) I'll get the run finished so they can hang out in the sun while we repair the doors & put hardware cloth over the windows, etc. That's my plan at least. Who knows how it will go!! Saturday will be another build day, although it will be shorter than previous ones, as it's my DH's birthday and I am treating him to a lunch date!! He's going to be 1/4 of a century old.

I just LOVE saying that!!
