We penned in the children's play yard which has ample space for our 5 chickens. The coop is behind the bridge.

This is the front of the coop. You can see the external nesting boxes on the right.

This is how we can access the eggs.

This is the opening that allows us to enter for cleaning and putting in water and feed. The opening to the ramp which leads below to the outside pen is in the back left corner.

This is a view of the ramp leading down. (and a cute picture of Bella posing for the camera)

Latch with carabiner.

The chicks love it out there. The put themselves to bed at night and all I have to do is raise the ramp (we have a cable on the outside of the coop that allows us to raise and lower the ramp from the outside) and call it a day. So much nicer than chasing them around, picking them up, putting them in the side door and THEN raising the ramp.

Nice Coop!! I just posted ours up today, too. Great feeling getting done! Ah.......almost done! I told the DW that I wanted to make ours a playground, do a 6 Flags over Chickens or something. Got to come with some rides for 'em. You've given me ideas.

Thanks, everyone.

The idea to use the playset was quite a revelation. We were walking around the year trying to decide where to put it..and then it dawned on us that the playset was already set in concrete and the wood posts were in place. All we needed to was to wrap the fencing around it. It really was perfect. The space under the playset isn't used for anything.

I have 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 RIR, 1 BR and 1 Austrolorpe.

Will that carabiner in the latch be preditor-proof?

I was using one, (didn't know that's what they're called,) but my husband thought a racoon could figure out how to open it. Now we use a small paddlock. It's a little annoying to use.

What a great space for your chickens. I bet the kids love it!
