our coop

Our coop sits right beside our house in the back side yard that has always been a "junk pile". it's 16ft total in length, 6ft wide & 6.5ft in height. The henhouse obviously is free standing inside here & it features a removeable ramp so I can open up the left side door to get full access to inside & there is a "lip" in front to hold the shavings 6" deep inside. We live in Alberta Canada so the coop is insulated with 1" foamboard insulation! we also have run an extention cord so we have a heat lamp inside the house & I can plug in a "trouble light" in the run!

Looks to be good craftsmanship and great utilization of dormant space. Is top covered to keep out raptors. Hard for me to see if its chicken wire.

I will tell my husband he did a good job on the build! Yes we covered it with chicken wire! we have owls & hawks plus neighborhood cats!
