Our Fav hen was killed lastnight...What did it?

I can't find no body just these feathers no body no head no legs just feathers.

That's just what it looked like when we lost one of our sweet Polish hens. That one was taken in the evening -- before I put them to bed and counted heads. We looked for her but didn't find her and found the same pile of bloodless feathers the next day, in the fencerow at the edge of our yard.

It's so sad, and I find that even a month later I'm sad that she's gone. I'm supposed to see two puffy heads out there when I look at my flock

this is the hard part of being chicken moms!

thank you all for the support its still so hard she greets me every morning and she was not here this morning and my kids have just been plain out depressed over this.

I put up a scarecrow and some metal pans and put out moth balls hoping that if it is a raccoon it won't come back.

I vote for coon as well.

Doubt mothballs or scarecrows will help, unfortunately.
