Our favorite chicken, a white polish has been having some trouble with the flock the past couple days. She was being isolated and attacked by our rooster and we don't know why. The only thing we could guess is that she hasn't laid an egg in a long time.
This morning when I let the girls out she ran out of the coop and the entire back of her neck has been ripped off... skin and all. I quickly picked her up and brought her into the house.
We have two problems now:
1. The muscles in her neck are exposed (no skin). Do we wrap it in something to stop it from being exposed. It's still "juicy"...
2. Why are they attacking our "Sweet Girl" and what should we do?
Thank you.
