After reading this forum for months and months and scouring the interweb looking at thousands of pictures and designs I set out to build our first coop. I took bits and pieces and rough measurements from several different designs I saw, did some quick chicken math, gathered up any available materials I had and or people would let me have and went to work.
What came together was a true design build and right now we only have about $23.00 in the screws holding the whole thing together. I had my chief engineer helping and several Coop testers on hand to make sure the final product will be sturdy enough for our Flock.
Still a work in progress but the bulk of the work was done this weekend over 2 days. We plan to add Paint, trim, doors, and plenty of predator protection. Once the girls get big enough we will be adding an enclosed run but thats a project for another day, we need to get them out of the brood pen on the back porch first.
Any comments and or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks for Looking!
