I'm a newbie to chickens, and this was *supposed* to be a chicken tractor.

After completeing most of it we realized it was too heavy to move without machinery.

So, now we just have a small coop that looks like a tractor.

I still ned to add nest boxes, a roost, and some paint, but overall here is my first ever attempt at a chicken coop. (Oh, dh did half the work, but I still call it "mine".)

It looks great. You could just put wheels on the coop end and handles on the run end. If the wheels didn't lift it too high off the ground wouldn't that work?

Thanks! The coop is 4'x4' - 2' tall on the sides and 2½' at the peak. The run underneath is 4'x8'x2'. The nest boxes will probably be added to the back of the coop on the outside. I was thinking of putting a roost both in the run and in the coop.

Thanks everyone!

I think it would still be too heavy to easily move with wheels on it, plus dh decided that he'd rather it just be stationary for now. We're hoping to buy a house with a couple of acres in the country after the first of the year (after baby #4 comes and tax $ for down payment). Then, we're planning to build a bigger coop and free range them. This will be the perfect size for starting new chicks then. Fortunately it is still small enough to put on a trailer (with lots of strong help) to take with us.
