Happy Sunday everyone! It's a been a lovely sunny day in Ireland (nice change) and our Daisybelle decided to lay her first egg.
We had no idea it was coming, no indication until today. None of the usual behaviours I've read about online, no swatting, wattle and comb are still pink, no nesting or any interest in the nest box.
Today though she was very vocal and separating from the others. I was cleaning out the coop and she was eager to get in. (Talk about convenient timing)
We stopped what we were doing and let her in. There was a lot of banging and scratching and then silence. Approx 20 minutes she marched out singing the song of her people to let us all know she had done it.
Our first tiny egg. We're so happy and weirdly proud of her
