Our First Eggs!!! I am so Proud

Yay!



These two light-brown, speckled eggs were a suprise from my brother's 6.5 month-old Rhode Island Reds. I can't wait 'til my buffs start laying! Here's to a sucessful egg-laying life for both flocks!

Must have been something to do with yesterdays nasty weather, cause we got our first egg from one of our 4 month old pullets today too!

I hope we both find more in the coop soon!

We're still just getting one a day, but the first two were from one of the Plymouth Rock pullets, and today it came from Blondie, the Orpington.

My first egg was from my Rhode Island Red hen, chippy. I couldn't find her and once I found her she was sitting on something. Then she stood up and there was and egg!
I was so exited about our first egg! Now, we get 4 eggs in green, light brown, and dark brown!

So far, we have gotten 7 eggs in three days, but I think one of hens are about to lay bc I saw her sitting in a box today (she usually lays in the afternoon). We ate six of them last night scrambled with fatback, grits, biscuts, gravy, and cantaloupe. Yum!
