Our First Ever Chicks Have Arrived!

It seemed to take forever, but it was less than a month before the first of our chick order arrived!

We picked up our six Golden Comets yesterday evening and set them up in their new home. We stayed around long enough to make sure they were all OK after the trip home and that they could find their food and water. Went out to the barn to check them again this morning and they're all still happy out there! The feed store where we got them asked if we wanted more than the 6 we ordered as they had extras. Chicken math was already taking hold as we were almost ready to agree, but we still have 6 Buff Orpingtons on their way plus a friend that is hatching some Americanas they want to give us so we said "no thanks"...for now

We just got 14 this week. 5 BO, 5 EE, 2 black and 2 brown. They are all doing well and starting to get feathers already.

So cute!! And I believe you showed great restraint not taking the "extras". When I went to pick out my chicks I knew I wanted 2 Barred Rocks and 2 Red Stars, but there was this other bin of something else and they were sooooo cute. I almost gave in.

Have fun trooping out to the barn every half hour!

They are cute and so much fun to watch.
We just got ours 3 wks ago.

The packing roos are so cute and friendly,it will be hard to get rid of them.
