We went to the Little Birdie Chicken Farm and Hatchery not far from our house and picked up five chicks on Sunday and ordered two more for expected hatching later this week.
Currently we have in our little homemade brooder 2 chicks which were hatched on 3/10/2014 and 2 hatched on 3/17/2014:
2 Speckled Sussex
2 Dominique
1 Buff Brahma
On order:
2 Ameraucana
Here is our little brooder set up with the 5 chicks (I turned off the heat lamp to take a better photo)
I now call my wife the "Chicken Whisperer"
We are into our 3rd day of raising the little chicks and we love them so much!!
