Well Klaus just got in trouble.... again! He ate some scrambled eggs my Daughter left to cool on the kitchen table! That dog loves eggs! Every night when we let him out back he goes on a crazy easter egg hunt! I've caught him trying to get inside of an old dog house that some of the girls like to lay in... A month ago we were putting the eggs of the day in a basket on the table so we could see how many we'd get in a day... I left to pick up the kids from school and when I got back, the eggs were gone! There was Klaus on the floor cracking an egg and eating it! Shell and all! Well, at least on the brite side, he'll have a beautiful coat!

papa always said there was never something worse than an egg suck dog.

Habernaro sauce injected into a few raw eggs and sealed with a drop of wax... feed liberally. Most dogs will quit eating raw eggs after a couple of them.

no problemo. just be sure to offer milk when he runs for the water dish

GSD and other large breeds seem immune to pepperspray and the usual hot stuff, but haberneros seem to be the only spicy thing that I found that worked. My Boxer/Pit mix eats peppers like crazy but avoids the haberneros after having a couple

My two German Shepherds and my Great Pyreneese all love eggs and I don't deny them the pleasure. We have 200+ freeranging chickens (plus ducks, geese, guineas, peafowl and goats) so the chickens lay in the nest boxes and everywhere/anywhere else they want to. The dogs will find a nest and help themselves. They usually only take one and go off somewhere to eat it in peace, savoring it like it was a steak bone. I figure it's cheap pay for all the hard work they do patrolling the farm and guarding our livestock 24/7. However, the GP has learned that the nest boxes, which are almost 5 feet high, are full of eggs so if he gets really hungry, like if he hasn't been fed his 20lbs of dog food a day, he'll go in the hen house, stand on his back legs, tippy toe, and stick his big muzzle in each nest box taking out one egg at a time and eating it. Even then, it's cheap pay for him. That dog especially works really hard all night keeping the predators in the woods and away from our flocks, many of which sleep outside on the ground and in bushes and under the carport.
