Our guineas refuse to leave their fly pen, what can we do to make them?

We have guineas that we got as keets in June and they refuse to stop using their nursery and they refuse to leave their fly pen. We've left the door open to their fly pen the last 3 days and they hadn't left until we kind of shewed them out this afternoon and they just stay by it. Do we have to continue shewing them out of the fly pen to make them leave? Also, shall we close up their nursery so that they'll stop using it? We'd like to even completely move it out of the fly pen, if they'd ever leave the area. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much.

By fly pen I assume you mean a run. Is there food and water in there? If so, they have no reason to leave. Move it out of the pen. If you don't want them to use the nursery (brooder?) take it away. In your situation, I would make sure only to offer any food, treats, or water outside of the run. Right now that is their safe zone and where they know they can get shelter and sustenance.

Yes, it is a guinea run. I guess I just thought that they naturally would want to free range. We do plan on taking the nursery out, we just need to do it on a day that they're not in there, we can shut it up so they can get into it. Thanks.
