Wasn't sure where to put this, but I was just excited to announce that one of our breeds (three hens) started laying this week! It's our first time with chickens, so it's very exciting for us, haha.

The three gray ones are laying (we believe, they're at least the ones making lots of noises and seeming confused). We were initially told they were Plymouth Rocks, but others on here have said Blue Sex-Link Hybrids (since Blue Plymouths are rare). But they're around 18 weeks old and are the leaders in egg-laying of the flock!

This was our first ever egg! They're like a light brown/tan color, ranging from small to large. So I'm not sure if it's dependent on which bird is laying or just random while they're still growing. But the eggs so far have been delicious!

We have 12 chickens total, 3 each of 4 breeds, though one of our Easter Eggers turned out to be a rooster (and someone on here said he looks like a Delaware, which I also just read today may be critically endangered?). I'm sad that's one less blue/green egg we'll get, but he's doing a good job protecting the hens so far, even if he gets a little aggressive to my boyfriend at sunset, lol (he's fine with me though). So it's 3 Blues, 3 Golden Comets, 3 Easter Eggers, and 3 Leghorns.

And I'm looking forward to the others starting to lay hopefully in the next some weeks!
