(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We've wanted Guinea Fowl for our farm for several years now. Tried our first flock last year with disastrous results....0 / 6 survived. Trying again this year, with 8 and we're down to 3!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Down to 3 Guinea Fowl, hoping to find advise on upping the survival rate.

(3) What breeds do you have? Guinea fowl, considering getting a goose and a few chickens this summer.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We want them for pest control and because we like birds.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? We raise goats (Pygmy/Nigerian Dwarf cross), have horses (TWH mare, RMH mare, Miniature Horse stallion and Miniature Donkey jack). Also have 3 pet indoor rabbits, 9 indoor cats, two dogs (American Staffie mix, JRT) and 3 Parakeets.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a retired Veterinarian Technician, horses & cats are my specialty. Love all animals though! In the past, we've had turtles, sugar gliders and several aquariums!

Hi and welcome to BYC. Here’s where the guinea peeps hang out - https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/guinea-fowl.45/. Chat with other BYC members nearby using the links in my signature, below (turn your phone to landscape to see them).

Make yourself at home and enjoy the forums.

Best wishes
