We call ourselves Fall Creek Adventures, and yep... we are on Instagram. (#FallCreekAdventures) Growing up my family always had lots of animals, so when I inherited my childhood home and land, my husband and I decided to start homesteading. 
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? No, but it had been decades since I had actually raised any chickens when we decided to start a flock. We started our flock in April 2019.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Fifteen. I did that math in my head real fast. Impressed? I'm looking to get a few more and possibly some ducks for the backyard as we have a lovely creek that runs along the back of our property.
(3) What breeds do you have? Cornish, Dominique, Black Sexlink and Easter Eggers <-- New members of the flock. They are just wee chicks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I don't know exactly. There's just something about puttering around in the yard with the clucking of chickens in the background that feels like home.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I sew, knit, and crochet. I love hiking, camping, fishing, listening to far too many true crime podcasts, and so on.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We are currently renovating our older home, so there's always a misadventure around here. As far as an occupation: I am a Marketing Editor with a publishing company out of NY. (Yes, I work remotely.) I'm also an author of urban fantasy and cozy mystery. I'm forever fighting a war between my desire to be organized and my desire to lay around and do nothing. Other than chickens we have 2 dogs, 2 parakeets, and 2 cats... we are set to get some goats later this year if we finish the fence in time. ;D
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC last year actually as I was researching chicken breeds, and I honestly thought I had joined! So... now I've rectified that mistake.
