I went to the auto parts store and found a grommet that made a tight fit for the shaft through the barrel. I got lucky and found one that was a little tight and I used a round file to take out excess rubber and it worked perfect, no water leaks down the shaft.
Even though I went to the trouble to prevent water running down the shaft I don't think it will hurt the reducer at all.

omg you guys so need to get a patent on this thing and make some money! I have had to deskin my chickens for two summers cause I AM NOT PLUCKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's too time consuming but I do miss juicy chicken and fried chicken with skin. I am pround you found a way to save you some time and SKIN! LOL!

Wednesday I'll try it out. I'm kind of worried the gap between the tub and the featherplate will be to wide (3,5 cm instead of 2,5 cm).
