It’s been a huge learning curve this summer, out of 24 eggs total to incubate we have a CCL cockerel and pullet and CCL/BCM olive egger pullet and a Blue French Copper Marans pullet. We lost one BFCM, she became very ill and died and last week sadly we had to cull the BCM cockerel. I tried in vain to rehome him. One morning he was very badly attacking the BFCM pullet, who wasn’t wanting to give in to him. We knew it wasn’t going to get any better. We were a bit sad  but the peace in the coop now is lovely. Josh our CCL is now 15 weeks old. He seems at this point calm, gentle and firm. He patrols around while they enjoy their food or treats, he has a favourite, but when the girls squabble he stops it immediately. He’s no problem with us either. I hope it stays this way. I don’t know how his colouring looks for a CCL. Any experts to tell me if he is a good specimen physically as well as all the other things we love about him.

The first photo is our beautiful wee boy who had a very peaceful end.

Your CCL is very striking. I have no knowledge of how he is supposed to look, so hopefully others will chime in.
Don't be surprised if your good boy turns bad temporarily in a few weeks. Those teen hormones can be a bear to get through.

I see enough to be patient with him while he goes through that. I’ve been reading about it.

He is such a handsome guy, I dont know much about that breed sorry

He sounds like he is doing his job as a roo, 15weeks old he might not of hit his full puberty yet.
Patience is the key , my experience most roos are pretty good with the occasional bad behavior durning puberty
I has 1 that was just plain mean and had to rehome

I am also sorry for your loss

You were fortunate to be able to rehome. There’s just too many unwanted cockerels in Scotland it seems
