my chicks will be 4 weeks in a few days and I am wanting to put them in their run. They are almost all feathered out and have been with out the light inside the house for a few days now. They have been roosting on the side of their brooder. I am thinking I will put a heating pad in with them while the nights are still cool. Should they be ok with night time heat?

You have to do what you can. 4 weeks is still not feathered out. Usually 8 weeks is about what most chick take. Considering your location and the coming weather, the heating pad may hold them thru the nights.
You do not state how many chicks, and if the coop will have a brooder setup, or just with other adult chickens. Also, will the heating pad be set up like the MHP. Mother heating pad. Similar to a cave, or a lean to shelter.
WISHING YOU BEST... and :highfive:

I have 15 and they are the only ones I have so they will have the coop/run to themselves. I may put them out in the day and bring them in at night.

If they were under a heat lamp before, at this age they may not know what the heating pad is all about - they’ve never used it before so the concept of “this is where we go to warm up” probably won’t occur to them.
