I have one of those heated waterers that are made out of plastic. In the instructions it states to be used indoors only. I assume that is they don't want water-snow falling on the container. Has anyone built a small lean to roof over their waterer for protection? In severe temps I don't think the small heater could keep up but for temps running in the low 20's I can't see why it wouldn't work. I have one in the coop and one outside. It takes 2-3 gallon waterers to keep me from filling more than once a day. Please comment. John

I have mine outside in a protected area. It was single digit last night and -10 last year and it does just fine.....joe
