over weight

I'm curious, how do I know if my dcks are getting too much to eat or getting too fat? I have 2 swedish ducklings that are 13 weeks old.

Well what do you feed? if they have a proper complete diet and access to an ability to move about they should be fine, don't over treat. Honestly, i free choice feed all my birds, the bulk free range too, it would be unusual for young ones to be having weight issues, they are so active at that aging.

I have some almost 4mths olds who are constantly moving! birds are usually pretty good at self control and can regulate their feed just fine only when fed fatty foods(ie. NOT complete diets) and to many treats do they start to get an imbalance.

Yeah I'm new with ducks. I give them bread graped and lettuce, but not an over abundance. I also feed them purina layena layer feed.

There cute! skip the bread, i don't feed ducks bread.ever. it fills them up which means they don't eat other foods, lettuce is fine, peas... watermelon.. some of mine would tackle you for honeydew.

Yeah, skip the bread, it's kinda an old wives tale that they should be fed it. Definitely much better choices available.!
