Most of you know that ol' man winter is coming and has arrived at some locations. One thing about winter is that food for our predator friends becomes scarce and they become hungry. When that happens they search and work much harder for a meal.

Make sure your coop and runs are predator proof.

For sure! The dogs ran off another coyote not more than an hour ago and I know it will get worse before it gets better.

Yep, that's a good reminder for everyone.

I've already noticed increased predator activity in just the last week. Night before last I heard 4 throughout the night that got into the electric fence. I know they won't be back, but I'm sure there are more to come. All we can do is to secure the chooks to the best of our abilities and hope for the best. Good Luck !!!

Couldn't agree more...no openings any larger that 1/2" and those can't be chewable...I don;t think we could stop a full-grown bear, but nothing else gets in and the hens are in before sunset and never out before sunrise.
