Most of you know about my spoiled rotten house ducks Victor and Ming Mei, those of you who don't probably will think I am crazy.
Joe (duck_feeder) and I share our townhouse with the ducks. They have their own room with their pen and they get their baths in the tub daily. Every night after bath time, they get to sit on the bed with us for a couple minutes (we use puppy pads don't worry, lol). They get petted, hugged and sometimes shoed.
Recently we decided to go ahead and get two more baby ducklings. So we ordered to more runners from Metzer's farm. Moxy and Norie are now 4 weeks old (today!) Right before the ducklings came, I got a call from my old roommate saying he is having a hard time taking care of his house ducks and wanted to know if I could take them. I didn't think I could, not with two new ducklings, but i offered to baby sit them while he was on break from school. Vinny and Ollie ended up really liking it here with us because we can spend a lot of extra time with them. So after two weeks of thinking about it, we decided to go ahead and keep them!
So now I have a total of SIX DUCKS living INSIDE my house... we're crazy.... Now I have to call my contractor of a cousin and have him build me a new pen big enough for everyone. I'm planning for the new pen to be 115 square feet (it'll have two floors), so it actually has enough room for two more ducks (wink wink). lol.
Sometime in the not so distant future, Joe and I are planning on buying a house where we can convert a sunroom into a ducky haven. We're always planning how to build a pond in it, how to heat it, how to clean it, etc.
I will say diapering all four of the adult ducks is a bit taxing... But they really love to spend time with us in our room... We bought some new fencing for our front room to expand their playpen, so hopefully We'll have a new play area for them soon!
Here's the four diapered on our bed... Getting all your ducks in a row is actually quite difficult... it took about an hour to get a picture like this! Vic likes to run away!
In order from left to right- Vinny, Victor, Ollie, Ming Mei
