I have been thinking about overseeding our duck run with something like red clover or some other traditional cover crop? Anyone ever tried this? Success or not?

heres a pic of what I did. I didn't pull the netting tight because it freaked the ducks out to walk on it, but it's still doing the job. I planted grass seed, put stepping stones and the netting over it, and it's growing great. They eat whats growing through. In the back theres a planting box, it has clematis, joshua grass, autumn fern, and either morning glory or honey suckle(cant remember which i planted). I have netting from the bottom edge of the planter up to the fence. they can and do eat what grows through, but the base is protected.
