i intergrated my young chicks with my hens.i'am feeding grower until the young ones are old enough to go on layer.they are 14 weeks old.it is recommened to have oyster shells avaliable for the hens in case they need it.any ideas on how to give it to the hens, but keep the young ones from eating it.

I've done the same thing you are doing several times. I've never seen a chick pay any attention to the oyster shell, despite sitting around and watching. But 14 weeks is probably old enough to switch to layer if you wish.

i have seen these chicks gobble it up.

They might think it's food, do you full feed? Young and Growing chicks eat a lot of food.
I cant remember having chicks wanting to eat Oyster Shells.
