Here are some pics of my Australorp "pullet" that I am suspicious of. Comb is looking pretty pink/red. Lemme know your thoughts.... he/she has some big ol man legs IMO

and this little banty guy I still have posted on before but thoughts on his breed were inconclusive. Most either thought he was a black tailed buff Jap or an OEGB He has feathered up some and I am curious to see if anyone can tell his breed for sure now that he has more feathers in.

Australorps are hard to figure if it's just one.. do you have any hatchmates to compare to? I am actually guessing pullet.. (very iffy pullet)

That lil banty is not easy for me.. I'm drawing a blank..

Yes, I am kicking myself for getting just the one Aussie pullet, and I am now on chick restriction per my hubby so there's no running down and grabbing another. Most of the other laying breeds I have 2 or more of - thank goodness - it does really help to have another of the same breed to compare. I have had this one for several weeks and she/he was pretty well feathered when I got it....dunno if having a educated guess as to age helps or not.... On the other guy - I was told it was a Pheonix by the sales lady at Orschelins, and the other time I posted on his breed was told OEGB or black tailed buff Jap. Everyone has a different opinion on him.

The little banty guy was in the assorted bantam brooder - so who know what he is. Guess I could look up bantam breeds on google and see what pops up.....I'm just dying to figure him out, he's the only chick I have that I can't figure out or don't already know the breed. I love seeing what they will look like as adults!
