Hi i am in Switzerland and I have adopted some ducks. They were all wild at first so I wasn't able to pick them up before.

Because they are the best things in my life I wanted to check that they hadn't caught any ticks.

I found a few of these on the underside of Jiffy and Jackies feet. She is a runner duck.

Stanley (the white Pommer Drake doesn't have any). I have had him for the longest time.

Thanks

They arent painful and my bigger ducks (pommeranina) don't have any.

As doctor I wouldn't surgically remove them because that would open up a route for infection and I am not in a position to keep the ducks in the house (the ducks wouldn't like that). Plus the ducks aren't in any pain or limping. The area isn't warm or swollen.

They have a grassed yard , 9 ponds with constant fresh water and daily fresh water and straw plus sawdust bedding. There aren't any sharp things here, it is all clean. I gather that it occured when they were at their previous home which didn't have a lawn.
