Hello, I have 2 separate flocks/breeds. I'll call them flock 1 and flock 2. Flock one is Cochins and Blk Australorps.
In flock 1 we recently added a smaller hen, Thumbelina ( a barnyard mix , she came from another farm last Nov. and was meant to be an Orpington but we don't know what she is, but she is a sweet little thing), but she has not made any friends and is always alone
In flock 2, Brahmas, we had a young pullet, Ivy, get sick and needed to take her to the vet and she had to be removed from the flock for 2 weeks and kept in a brooder. Now she is better and integrated back to her flock but the other pullets are not befriending her
so she is all alone.
I have been thinking, and wondering, if I could place Thumbelina and Ivy together for a time to pair them as friends
, even though Thumbelina is 1/3 the size of Ivy, and then place them back into flock 2 together, the Brahmas.
Anyone have really small chickens living with Brahmas without issues?
