hello i am after some advice I got what i was told to be a pair of diamond doves a few months ago they turned out to be 2 cock birds, they have paired up together even though they are both males trying to breed and nest etc, I bought 2 hen birds thinking this would help but they still seem happier to be together, I have tryed pairing a pair inside my house in a cage and left a pair in the flight is this what i should be doing please help

We had two ringnecks who were given to us, because they wouldn't stop cooing. Well turns out they were both cocks, so we seperated them, and added a female to both. One cock is a proud daddy with two eggs due anytime, though, being raised with a male, he's a bit slow on the fatherly duties. The other male, we added to a "flock" of one male(too old to breeD) and three females(all young). He's breeding, and the older male, helps out with the "maintaince of the flock." I guess he's the grandfather of the group. What you've done with your doves seems to be correct. I mean it's worked for us. But alot of it depends on your individual birds, and their likes/dis-likes.

Hi, I have bred diamond doves for many years and have had that same problem before. What I did was put the pairs in two separate flights and did not put the nests in until they were in there for 2 weeks. Also dont put the nests in the same place. For some reason they forget real easily about what was there, lol. Anyway I have found this to be the best way to repair them.
