Pale and dry looking cone

Hi Can anyone help me? My leghorn hen is about 4-6 months old. She started laying and her cone was fleshy and red. She layed about 6 eggs then stopped and her cone looks paler and dryer...? Any idea what might be going on for her???

Welcome to BYC. Have you wormed the flock? Check around the vent for mites or lice. Are your chickens all the same age? Any symptoms of cocci (diarrhea, puffing up, poor appetite, ruffled feathers?)

I haven't wormed them I will look and do this. I am pretty new to the chicken keeping. We have 7. All from4-6 ish one is about two years old and she has been laying but stopped also the last few days but I put it down to the introduction of two new bard rocks . They are only 14 weed I think. I have an aracuna and a light sussex that are definitely old enough to be laying but haven't yet. Could worms or mites prevent laying?
