Today I noticed that my duckling's beak is pale and I don't know why. It was pink yesterday but now it's pale. What do I do? He's currently recovering from a parasite and he's also a bit off. Is that normal?(Like, when humans are recovering from a virus to example we also get pale and etc). What can I do? Here's a photo:

Vitamin A and carotenoid levels affect the color of a bird's beak and skin. A shortage will turn a yellow bill into one that is green or pink. Will it turn a pink bill into a pale bill? Probably not, but some scrambled egg yolks (whites optional) wouldn't hurt. Since pink-billed ducks don't store much of these vitamins in their bill, they have less of a reserve of Vitamin A and carotenoids.

Wait I'm kind of confused. What do I do so I get him back to normal? I've heard that a duck having a pale beak is dangerous but I don't know if it's true.

My understanding is that it can be a sign of anemia in adult ducks. I'm not sure about ducklings though.
he isn't really active and i don't know if he has enough time until i take him to the vet. I'm honestly so scared.

@nanook100 have you been feeding him egg yolk? I’d give the vet a call an tell them what’s going on. Tell us what the vet put him on as far as meds please.
He passed away 5 days after we started giving him an antibiotic that the vet gave us. Turns out that he had a parasite way before we adopted him(but the previous owner either didn't tell us or didn't know about it) and it wasn't our fault that he died. Bless his little heart.

Now we adopted 2 (6 months old) ducks. I decided not to get any more little ones because of the stress around them. I can't handle loosing more so we got adult ones. I'm still trying to get them to trust me and we are slowly getting there :) Thank you all so much for the help.
