I have a 3 yr old calico princess hen who hasn't laid an egg since last October. Her comb is pale and dry, but she acts normal. I had a fecal ran and it was negative. I don't find lice or mites, but I'm worried about her.
What else could cause her to stop laying entirely and her pale comb? She gets kalbach layer feed, a handful of scratch and black oiler sunflower seeds every morning with her 3 room mates. No fighting, no roo.

The comb and not laying are related. For some reason, she is not producing enough hormones, like she has not come out of a molt.

You have checked parasites and got nothing, this is probably genetic, and I do not think there is really anything you can do to make her lay.

Sometimes people may mention feed, but remember, the other two hens being fed the same thing and doing fine.

You can keep her, or cull her, but you really can't make her lay.

I don't mind her being a freeloader. I was just wondering if there was something else that could cause her to look anemic.
In 21 years I have never had one like this.🙂
