So I want to ask something. I have a rooster of 13 months old. Recently he is acting strange. He keeps on scratching himself and pulling out his feathers. Also his wattle becomes pale like he has low blood. I have dewormed him, checked for lice or mites but havenot found anything. But still treated it twice.
Coukd it be that he is moulting? It is summer time here with temperature reaching upto 38 to 40°C. Can someone help

He may have mites. Chances are if he does have mites some of your other birds may too. If you don't see anything inspect after he roosts. Some mites only come out at night and feed on the birds. I use a headlamp so I have both of my hands free to inspect. I had a bird that was doing the same thing and discovered she had mites. I did some research and came up with permethrin. I treated all of my coop weekly for about a month with permethrin because it does not kill the mite eggs. Permethrin works and there is no egg withdrawal. Initially I sprayed the birds too.
