so I build a lot of things out of pallets and when we got our mixed flock in April my wife talked me into buying a coop from tractor supply rather than build one.

So my wife my youngest daughter and my son went to get our silkies I have been wanting a while. And in came a tropical storm so my weekend could not be spent making a coop. Every bit of free time I have had I have been working on the coop it is made out of broke down pallets from a furniture store I will maybe have just under 100 in it when I am done.

Nice work! Looks great - one of the best pallet coops I've seen! What are the dimensions? How much ventilation does it have?

And how did you take apart the pallets? The wood looks surprisingly good for being pallet wood!
Haha, I know! Dismantling pallets is an art in itself.....

When I get the chance to work with pallets I'm not nearly as talented, I just use the whole pallet!! They make good dog/goat houses, fencing, sheds, and whatever else you can dream up.

It’s from furniture pallets I have a company call me when they have pallets which they have 100s of pallets every week and I usually go twice a week and get as many as I can. As for taking apart pallets I use a crow bar and hammer. If it’s a regular pallet I take a circular saw and cut off the end 2x4s and use a crow bar for the middle 2x4s.

For ventilation I did not overlap the boards giving small gaps also used hardware clothe on 2 sides for ventilation and thinking about putting vent on the solid wall side.

Here are some of my other pallet projects but the coupe has to be the most extensive.
