Here is my coop made from pallets all finished, (well it gets add ins here and there!)
I had thus idea last fall, to build a large Coop from pallets. I started last fall by extracting my siding boards from used pallets. With Indiana's long cold winter we had (along with most of the US) it didn't start till later than planed!! Right now I have a temp run on it till I feel comfortable to let my chickens free range. So no it is now large enough but it works for now. The building is 8' wide 8' tall by 12' long. It's made with pallet walls and torn apart pallets for siding. The roof is made with new lumber and shingles. The floor is also made with new lumber. I love this coop and I think my chickens like their new home!
(Warning this is pic heavy)

Well that's it folks the pallet palace!! I really do love this building, I also want to thank my son he was a huge help in the construction. It was fun and went up fairly quick. I hope you all like the pics and story!

This is really outstanding! I've lived in houses that were not so well built.

Did you cover the floor with anything, or paint it? What are you using for litter?

Thank you for all the pics - I've heard you mentioning it and I was really curious how you put it all together. The pallets I'm used to getting, when I can get them, are not in nearly such good condition. There are companies around town that build and recycle them, so I almost never see good pallets that are free to take.

What are the dimensions on your outdoor run? I need to build a larger one than I have, but in my head I needed a lot more lumber to hold it together. Like most people, I tend to overbuild. ;-)

the floor is not covered, I am using a deep littler of wood chips. The run is 8'lx8'dx4'h, The building is very strong and solid. It was fairly easy to put together.

Amazing! I am looking into pallet coop designs because my husband can get MANY pallets FREE from his place of work. This will be our third coop we attempt to build... we keep adding to our flock, and my husband likes to cut corners (the KING of 'cheap')
