Parakeet (budgie) wont leave cage

I got a parakeet on Monday, and it doesn't want to leave its cage. if I put my finger in the cage it will sometimes step up onto it, but when I try to take I out of the cage it will grab the nearest thing. (perch, bars of the cage, toys, etc.) and then it will step up off of my finger.

The parakeet is still adapting to it's new home and is reluctant to leave the security of the cage. Give it time It will become bolder.
