Parakeets?

we've had several. they are preety easy to take care of. They will do well if you handle them alot. we had one that sat on our shoulders, would step up on finger, free flew around the house, and even talked (yes actual words). it all depends on how young you get them and how much you handle them. most will bite and it takes awhile to get them past that. The 1 we have now doesn't get out of cage cause our cat thinks its a flying mouse. So we keep him in a large cage (not to big cause the bigger the cage the wider the bars) with lots of toys. parakeets love mirrors.
normally they are not loud, but every now and then they will yell. pretty clean as far as birds go. Can live up to 15 yrs. now i've never had 1 come close to this 5 has been our longest. they can be picky eaters.
hope this helps

Tall, Square Bird Cage

The perfect cage for finches, canaries, or parakeets. Deep dish slide-out cleaning tray, 2 perches, 2 cups, removable wire grating (grille), powder-coated wire finish. 9" x 12" x 15 1/2".

Parakeets are awesome little birds. The cage your looking at is the right shape but you might want to think about getting one that is a little larger. I think he'll be pretty crowded in there. Parkeets have long tails and he'll need a swing and some toys. By the time you add the keet - there won't be very much room left. Just something to think about...good luck with your keet.
