I know I should’ve asked this sooner, when he collapsed, the first day or something. I didn’t plan to ask for help, I thought he’ll self recover or something, and I was going through a really rough patch and my family already didn’t view chickens’ life very highly. I guess I am just looking for solace and venting than anything because it has been about 14 days and I think his chance of recovering is almost null now, but he was such a pretty bird, and now I regret not trying to help sooner(maybe vitamin B would’ve helped, even human’s one)
He was to be butchered due to his suddeness of not being able to stand but I hold the thought off because he was still able to move his wings and eat/drink, he still does but he doesn’t eat enough to survive I think, and now he goes from all fine to bone thin and I’m just not sure if I should end his suffering now or find a way to try to cure him, preferably with something affordable and buyable in Slovakia, shipping cost and all. Opinions please.
october 8th, a few days before his collapse
October 16th, 2 days after he became paralyzed I think, I didn’t take pictures the first two days
24th october, all sunken face and thinning, he ate and drank. I work 12+ hours a day I just didn’t think too much of how stupid I was to not take action as soon as possible yet.
26th Oct: Putted him in with the chicks because I was changing his bedding and I just wanted a pic of him with his only sibling left(dumb I know I return home 8 pm everyday I wasn’t smart) if it was contagious rip my chicks I guess
Current day, 28th of October. I’ll be real, I’ve been lazy, I put him on pines shaving because changing cardboard has been killing me. I think that’s why he got a huge sore now. I think it’s unlikely he’ll recover from such a bloody sore, underweight and long term paralysis but what do you guys think?
