I have some young partridge silkies-hatched May 17. So far they are mostly black with a LIGHT smattering of gold on the top(barely). I have to admit that I am a little disappointed in their coloring so far. When I googled partridge silkies, most of them had lots of color. Will mine get more color as they get a little older? Did I read somewhere that they are crosses with black silkies?

Alpha, here is a picture of a juvie partridge pullet and her color at five months. She is a good example of great female coloring. I will post a picture of a young juvie cockeral and if you will scroll down below on this Breeds forum I have a great picture of this guy grown under subject Partridge silkie. You won't believe the difference.

This is the young cockeral and you won't believe the difference when you look below at grown up pic. He got his color as he grew.

Julie, Thanks for taking the time to send those picks. My birds are only three months old so I'll just have to be patient. I was looking at the roo tonight. He has gold and orange smatterings on his body and is starting to get some green sheen to his tail-barely. So I will look forward to more color soon. Thanks.
Would love to see pics of other people's partridge silkies. Anyone?
