Well i have decided i might start my owne project. I just recently bought 2 standard buff cochins and 1 standard Partridge hen and 1 standard partridge roo. When i collected their eggs i figured i would get at least 1 chick that is from both of the partride parents but when the chicks hatched they didnt really look like a partridge chick and come to find out i have partridge X buff Cochins! At first i thought that these guys wouldnt turn out with any "special" color patterings but now that they are starting to really feather out i love their coloring. They have a buff cochin colored feather but they also have the partridge lacing on the wing tips. I reallly think that they might just turn out to be an awsome looking chicken and if they do, i am going to try and make more of these little guys and then sell them. Anyone else have Partridge X buff cochins that i could look at to see what i might expect?
Here are pictures of when they where first born:

I will post recent pics of them once i get around to plugging in the camera

I could be wrong, but I think those are the two base colors for gold-lacing. There was an article about it in Practical Poultry a year or two ago.

Awesome! Have fun breeding your chickens
