This one chick we purchased from local feed store keeps getting pasty butt! I noticed she was chirping as if she was distressed so i picked her up and investigated. Sure enough pasty butt again. I got it off of vent there’s a piece stuck to feathers i had to leave for now because she was even more distressed and I don’t want her to end up worse then she is... but why does her vent look like this? I can’t even see the hole to vent like all of them it looks like a hemorrhoid! Do chicks get them?! Photo is attached

I'm not an expert but I've had chicks with pasty butt. It usually lasts until they are 1-2 weeks old. Make sure you are washing them with warm water and cotton buds to remove any excess faeces. I'd also recommend drying them and leaving it wet means the pink area Is visible to other chicks and they may start pecking them. It could be prolapse maybe caused by the poop if so some antiseptic would help. Just make sure your washing the area thoroughly a few times a day.
